UCLA To Resume Full Operations On Monday

Protests amid ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, at UCLA in Los Angeles

Campus operations at the University of California, Los Angeles are set to resume 'in full' on Monday, as per a university release. To ensure safety, a law enforcement presence will continue to be stationed around campus. However, until then, campus operations will remain limited, with classes being conducted remotely through the weekend.

The university has advised that work, events, and research activities should continue to be remote or rescheduled during this period. Student affairs staff will be available on campus to provide support to students, although individuals are urged to avoid the Royce Quad area due to recent violent incidents.

Earlier this week, a pro-Palestinian protest encampment at UCLA was attacked by several dozen men using crude weapons. Video footage of the incident has been provided to sources. In response, over 200 individuals were arrested on Thursday for allegedly resisting orders to disperse from the encampment, which has since been dismantled.

Following the violence, UCLA canceled classes on Wednesday, transitioning to remote learning on Thursday. Chancellor Gene Block emphasized the university's commitment to student safety and well-being amidst these challenging circumstances.
