This is the moment an Uber Eats rider swiped three parcels from an apartment block reception after delivering a McDonald's sausage and Egg McMuffin.
A tenant living inside 49 Hurst Street, a block of luxury apartments in the Baltic Triangle, ordered an Uber Eats delivery to her home on Saturday, November 5. Once the rider arrived at 10.44am the woman came downstairs to collect her Sausage and Egg McMuffin from the Uber Eats rider, who had a Deliveroo rucksack.
After heading back to her home, and giving the rider an 81p tip, he was caught on CCTV walking over to a coffee table with a number of parcels on it and swiping them. The incident came to the attention of the building manager at 49 Hurst Street when another person living in the apartments said her parcels were delivered but she couldn't find them.

The building manager, who has looked after the apartments since 2019 when it was first built, told The ECHO : "The tenant came to us saying she'd lost her parcels, even though there was proof of delivery, so we looked at the security cameras. There was quite a lot of footage to go through, but then we saw this delivery driver.
"Everyone in the office was just shocked, we couldn't believe what we watched. I was flabbergasted. You see delivery riders as being no different to the post man, people trust them and welcome them into their homes. This footage shows you just can't trust them or anybody. I want this to be a warning to people to make sure they keep an eye on delivery riders in the future."
The building manager shared the footage on social media in a plea for help from Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Merseyside Police have also been informed about the incident.
The twitter account Deliveroo Help replied to him and said: "Hi there, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Please drop us a DM with your contact email address so we can follow this up."
A spokesperson for Deliveroo said: “Deliveroo takes rider conduct very seriously. We’re investigating what’s happened and if the rider was working for Deliveroo at the time.”
An Uber Eats spokesperson said: “We take a zero tolerance approach to any illegal activity on our app and reserve the right to immediately terminate access to the platform. We are currently investigating this incident."
Since the incident, the building manager said he was now thinking about "spending a lot of money" buying a parcel locker for his tenants to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again.
He said: "We have never had anything like this happen, but now I am thinking about getting the parcel locker. I just want light shed on this incident so people are aware."
