Uber Eats names their best restaurant in Scotland for 2022

A new award from food delivery specialists Uber Eats has named the best restaurant in Scotland. The winner will now compete with eight other regional finalists to be named the best in the UK.

The inaugural UK & Ireland Restaurant of the Year Awards will be judged by a selection of famous faces, with the eventual winner of the ‘Restaurant of the Year’ for the whole of the UK winning £100,000 to build and expand their business.

Earlier this year, the public was invited to nominate their favourite spots from across the UK and the winner for the finalists in Scotland has been revealed.

Burger champions Bread Meats Bread in Glasgow, beat out the likes of Buck's Bar, Aberdeen's So... NYC Bagels and Brew and Edinburgh's Bundits of Leith, as well as fellow Glasgow favourites Julie's Kopitiam and Mother India to win the public vote for the Scotland section of the awards.

Bread Meats Bread will now be invited to take part in a judging day, where their food will be tasted by the panel of judges, including Prue Leith, restaurateur and TV host, and Rachel Ama, vegan chef.

Matthew Price, Uber Eats General Manager, said: “There are so many amazing independent restaurants on Uber Eats and the finalists really demonstrate the vast amount of options and cuisines available across the UK and Ireland.

"I can’t wait to see the fantastic stories that are brought to light, try some of the best food available on our high streets up and down the country and recognise the pioneers and innovators shaping the future of our restaurant industry."
