Tyus Jones available for trade, Bulls should make phone call

The Chicago Bulls desperately need to fix their roster this summer. If their plan is to run back the same core, which seems like their current plan, they need to make big-time additions. Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic are all solid players, but they need help.

Most of all, the Bulls need a starting-caliber point guard. Lonzo Ball is supposed to be that player, but he got hurt 35 games into his Bulls career and has yet to return to the court. Now, Chicago needs to move forward under the assumption he won’t be back in the fold anytime soon.

One player who would fit perfectly as the Bulls’ starting one is Memphis Grizzlies point guard Tyus Jones, who is reportedly now available for trade.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Grizzlies are working with Jones to find a new home where he can be a full-time starter.

“The Grizzlies, however, are exploring trade opportunities to help Jones land a full-time starting position elsewhere, league sources told Yahoo Sports, while Memphis has prioritized upgrading the team’s wing depth,” Fischer wrote.

Jones has filled in for Ja Morant in the starting lineup on multiple occasions, finding a ton of success. He’s fully capable of handling a full-time starting spot, and at this point, he deserves that opportunity.

He’s a solid three-point shooter, very rarely turns the ball over, and, if given the chance, could probably inch toward 10 assists per game. Jones would be the perfect starting point guard for the Bulls.
