Tyson Fury has warned Dillian Whyte he will have to be David to his Goliath if he is to become heavyweight world champion.
The 'Gypsy King' will defend his title against Whyte on Saturday at Wembley Stadium, with the pair set to clash in front of a record 94,00 crowd. Whyte has been waiting for over 1,500 days for his shot at the title and will go into the contest as significant underdog against the undefeated champion.
And Fury, who stands five inches taller than his rival, doubts Whyte has the artillery to take down the undefeated lineal champion. " Dillian Whyte is a Londoner but I take over whatever town I go to," he said. "He has a very daunting task, he is trying to slay a beast with a pea shooter.
"He has to swim across the Atlantic ocean when he is only used to doing lengths in the local swimming centre. St Georges Day is a very important day to have it, it will be an epic night. This is the biggest fight since Frank Bruno vs Lennox Lewis."
Fury comes into the bout on superb form with his previous two fights having brought victories against trilogy rival Deontay Wilder. Meanwhile Whyte has not fought since February last year where he took revenge against Russian heavyweight Alexander Povetkin after being beaten at Fight Camp in 2020.
The pair were respectful to one another during the opening face-off at the press conference, with Whyte finally attending after missing both the opening press event earlier this year as well as the open workouts this week. Whyte's participation in the bumper showdown was placed into doubt by his lawyer as ongoing disputes over his treatment threatened to derail the clash.

However Whyte will come into the contest as confident as ever that he can secure the victory and has claimed he would be the "best" heavyweight if he can hand Fury his maiden loss. "There’s no rematch clause when you’re the mandatory challenger, but if I win on Saturday and it’s a good fight, I’ll fight him again,” said the Body Snatcher.
“I’m not someone to run away from fights, I want to fight the best fights. I don’t care what people think or care about me, I just want the best fights and give the fans the best. That’s what I want to do. I don’t want to fight someone nobody cares about and then go ‘I made this number of defences of the title’. I want to fight the best guys.
“I want to fight the best. People say Tyson Fury is the best fighter of all time. Most guys believe that. So why would I not want to fight the best fighter of all time again? For me, that’s amazing. Imagine that. I’m easy if I beat the best of all time.”
