Tyson Fury is back and he’ll see his first in-ring action in 2.5 years on Saturday at the Manchester Arena when he takes on Sefer Seferi.
Showtime YouTube and Facebook have struck again by securing the rights to stream the fight. Over the past few months, the cable network has locked down fights like Amir Khan vs. Phil Lo Greco, Lee Selby vs. Josh Warrington and Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire.
None of those fights would have been viewable in the United States otherwise. This bout is considered by most to be a tuneup fight for Fury before he throws his hat into the ring for fights against the likes of Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and all of the biggest names in the heavyweight division.
That said, Seferi is no slouch. His 23-1 record makes him appear to be a fair challenge for Fury. Before Fury and Seferi climb into the ring, Terry Flanagan and Maurice Hooker will battle for the vacant WBO junior welterweight title.
Here’s how you can watch.
- Date: Saturday, June 9
- Time: 4:30 pm ET
- TV: None in the US, Sky Sports (BT Sport 1) in the UK
- Stream: Showtime YouTube and Facebook
Saturday has a ton of combat sports scheduled, but in the US, the Fury-Seferi gets started before any of those events. In fact, the only combat sports programming that it should overlap with is UFC 225′s early Fight Pass prelims. With the UFC’s early bouts available only on the promotion’s subscription service, the Fury-Seferi fight could be more attractive on a free platform.
