Oleksandr Usyk beat Tyson Fury by unanimous decision in the hotly-anticipated rematch to remain top dog in the heavyweight division.
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk Result: Usyk wins by unanimous decision
It was a fight that lived up to the billing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as Usyk extended his unbeaten record to 23-0 and retained the IBO title.
To many, the bout was considered a much closer affair to what the judges thought with another controversial round of scoring at the Kingdom Arena.
All three judges scored the fight 116-112 to give Usyk the win by unanimous decision and in the ring, the Ukrainain dismissed any suggestion that retirement was near.
Daniel Dubois jumped in afterwards and Usyk soon told Riyadh Season CEO Turki Alalshikh, “Mr Excellency, make me the fight.”
Fury‘s only two career losses have come against Usyk so it’s fair to say he’s met his match after a generation of domination and the score has been settled.
In the early stages, the ‘Gypsy King’ looked on top but as the fight developed Usyk began to respond with his trademark stamina and resilience to keep his opponent at bay.

What’s next for Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk?
Anthony Joshua seems a viable option for Fury to meet in the ring after he failed at the second attempt against to Usyk. This is a fight the boxing community has been drooling of for years, and now the opportunity is here.
As for Usyk, like discussed above, Dubois is the prime candidate for his next clash and this is a fight he would very likely dominate in too – so his enthusiasm to set it up isn’t surprising.
