Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte date, tickets, press conference and odds

The countdown is on for Tyson Fury's WBC heavyweight title defence against Dillian Whyte, which has officially been confirmed by Fury's promoter Frank Warren.

The huge fight will take place on Saturday, April 23 at Wembley Stadium in what promises to be one of British boxing's biggest occasions for decades.

The WBC had mandated Fury to defend his title against his fellow Brit but there was a significant delay with developments, with purse bids delayed on four occasions and Whyte waiting until the final hours before a deadline to submit his contract with the governing body this week.

Now though, the contest has been officially rubber-stamped and fans are eagerly anticipating Fury's first bout in the UK in almost four years.

The fight is also the final hurdle before a likely unification bout against Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua.

Here is what you need to know:

What is the date and venue for Fury vs Whyte?

The fight is scheduled for April 23, with Fury having already confirmed that detail in a social media post earlier this week.

Wembley Stadium in London will play host to the event, where Fury's rival Joshua previously secured a memorable win over Wladimir Klitschko.

Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, March 2 and with huge demand expected, fans can sign up to ticket alerts with Fury's promoter Warren HERE.

What has Fury said?

Prior to the start of his self-inflicted social media blackout, Fury mocked Whyte's reported mind games following confirmation of the bout.

"Oh my God, Dillian Whyte signed his contract for eight million dollars. What a surprise!" He sarcastically stated in an Instagram story.

"Oh my God, my head hurts from all the mind games that Dillian Whyte has been playing on me, oh my God, I'm so sore, I don't know whether I'm coming or going, my training camp is a mess.

What early predictions have been made?

Early predictions have been issued for Fury's title defence against Whyte, with some surprising calls.

One of the non-surprising calls, however, was from Whyte's trainer Xavier Miller, who has explained why his unbeaten streak will come to a close.

Elsewhere, Dereck Chisora also backed Whyte for a victory against his rival Fury as he feels an upset is on the cards in the April bout.

The bookmakers unsurprisingly have the Gypsy King down as the heavy favourite. Betfair odds have the Whythenshawe fighter at a whopping 1/7 for victory, with Whyte 4/1 to snatch the WBC heavyweight belt and a draw rated at 25/1.

The method of victory, however, is seen as slightly harder to call - with Fury 11/10 to win by points or decision, should the fight go the full distance.

Fury is 5/4 to win via knockout or TKO, with three of his last four triumphs coming via stoppage - including his last two, both against Deontay Wilder.

In comparison, Whyte is priced at 17/1 to win the bout if it goes the distance via points or decision, with a knockout or TKO clearly seen as his best chance of winning.

Will there be a press conference?

An official press conference is now expected to be arranged by Queensbury Promotions with the fight having been formally been announced, with Fury and Whyte speaking to the media.

Fury previously claimed that Whyte wanted an extra payment to be involved in such an event.
