Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte could result in Connor Benn fight change

Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte's upcoming bout could have a knock-on effect in the boxing scene, leading to a change in Connor Benn's next bout.

The WBC mandated bout has finally got the go ahead following lengthy delays to negotiations, which saw purse bids pushed back on four occasions.

Frank Warren's record-breaking bid has brought an end to the delays and the pair will go toe-to-toe in the coming months, with a fight set to take place before the end of April.

Fury 's camp had initially wanted his next bout to take place in March but the delays have left such a date unrealistic - and there's now set to be a knock-on effect.

Matchroom had planned for Benn to be in action on April 23rd at the O2 Arena in London but that date is now heavily tipped to be when Fury vs Whyte occurs - and Eddie Hearn has confirmed they will make changes in necessary.

"We would [move it]. Conor Benn was due to go April 23rd, we've put other plans in the place probably the week before in case [Fury and Whyte] do go April 23rd," he told iFL TV.

"We haven't had a contract yet but we haven't been told of any date yet for Fury vs Whyte, which obviously we will do in time but not yet.

"It has to happen before the end of April. The winner has seven or ten days to pay the deposit and then they have 14 days to confirm the date and the venue."

The Principality Stadium in Cardiff is the favoured venue for Fury's fiercely-anticipated return to the UK but is yet to be confirmed.

Contracts for the bout have to be signed by February 21 and further announcements are expected to take place in the coming weeks.
