Tyson Fury and Dilian Whyte are set to face off in the ring later this year with purse bids for the WBC-mandated contest to be confirmed on Friday.
With a fight between Fury and Whyte back on after delays to negotiations, it looks as though a deal for Oleksandr Usyk to fight Anthony Joshua for a second time will also be confirmed in the near future.
Fury and Whyte look set for a date in April while Usyk and Joshua will stage a rematch in May for the belts that were won off the Brit by the Ukranian back in October.
Last week talk was intensifying of a step-aside deal, with Joshua reportedly offered £15million to allow a unification bout between WBC champion Fury and WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO champion Usyk.
However, Joshua denied the prospect of this fight happening and now it looks as though Whyte's camp has become more open to negotiations with their big fight against Fury almost taken away.
There was controversy surrounding negotiations with Whyte reportedly unwilling to accept the 80:20 split that was on offer, holding out for a bigger fee.
It will be continue to be an interesting day in this ongoing saga between four of the heavyweight division's finest fighters and the purse bid announcement at 6pm should bring some certainty to the situation.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn told told Boxing Social : "Fury's made it clear... I see all his instagram stuff laughy laughy, but he's actually the one who didn't want to fight Usyk.
"He's the one who has lost all that money, I'm baffled. But anyway, that's what is happening and if he wants to fight Dillian Whyte, brilliant, we will proceed with that.
"Win or lose the purse bid that fight will happen. I believe Dillian Whyte can win that fight, especially with everything that's gone on, it clouds the brain, it really does.
"I'd love to promote that fight, I mean it's worth paying the money to get to promote it, to be the lead promoter. We'll see what happens."
