Tyson Fury has been told he has no chance of beating UFC champion Jon Jones - in a fight with no rules.
Jones, 35, is widely considered the greatest MMA fighter ever with his only defeat in the cage coming by a controversial disqualification over a decade ago. The UFC legend made his fighting return last month after a three-year layoff, choking out Ciryl Gane in just over two minutes to become a two-weight world champion.
UFC commentator Joe Rogan has insisted that if the heavyweight champions were locked in a room together, Fury would have no chance of making it out of the room. “If Jon Jones and Tyson Fury are locked into a room, I’ll push all of my chips on black. Nobody thinks Tyson Fury could beat Jon Jones in a fight. No one thinks that, even Tyson doesn't think that," Rogan said on his podcast.

"You want to talk about who’s the baddest man on the planet? Tyson Fury is an amazing boxer but he doesn’t have a f****ng chance in hell of making it out of that room. Zero chance. He'd have to catch Jon immediately with one punch and I just don't see that happening. The threat of the takedown looms so large and that shot will come so unexpectedly. When he gets his hands around you, you'll be so stunned."
Fury hinted at a potential switch to MMA in 2019 after training elbows and knees on the pads with former UFC title challenger Darren Till. Jones was also suggested as an alternative opponent for a crossover bout against Fury in the ring, who previously discussed the idea of a hybrid-style bout against Francis Ngannou.
UFC boss Dana White recognised Jones as the greatest fighter to step foot in the octagon following his win against Gane. White jokingly said that dealing with Jones is like managing "an artist" and admitted that he is unsure what is next for 'Bones' following his latest win.
"There’s no doubt that Jon is special. He’s the greatest of all time. He’s undefeated. He’s never lost a fight in the UFC ever. He’s fought all the best competition out there, but dealing with him is like dealing with an artist. That’s the best way to explain it. I don’t know what’s going to happen from here on out. I’m just happy we got to see what we saw tonight," White said.
