Tyson Fury is confident a crossover fight with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou would break existing pay-per-view records in the US.
Fury and Ngannou have been teasing a fight for over a year, but with Ngannou recently fighting out of his UFC contract talks of the bout are heating up.
The UFC champion and Fury have both challenged each other to fight with unique rulesets, as Fury has called to box ''The Predator' in 4oz MMA gloves.
But the WBC champion has put the clash against Ngannou aside and is solely focused on defending his world title against Dillian Whyte on April 23.
"When asked about fighting Ngannou, he said: "Not for this year, no because I've got boxing to do but next year we can have some f***ing crazy fights," Fury told iFL TV.
"[It's] very big. I believe it breaks all pay-per-view records in the United States. Two heavyweight champions going head to head."
Ngannou would be unable to compete against Fury this year due to a knee injury he suffered before UFC 270 forcing him out of competiton until October.
Despite fighting out of his deal, the UFC star is also unable to compete for other promotions until his contract officially expires in December.
The current US pay-per-view record is held by Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao's 2015 'Fight of the Century', which sold 4.4 million buys in the country.
Mayweather's crossover fight with former UFC champion Conor McGregor generated 4.3 million American buys, making it the second-biggest selling bout in history.
Longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan has also backed Ngannou to earn a big payday against Fury and believes the two heavyweights are both "very marketable".

And former UFC champion Henry Cejudo thinks Ngannou, who took home $600,000 for his last UFC fight, could earn a massive $40million for boxing Fury.
"The case here is there’s about 40 million dollars waiting for him if he fights ‘The Gypsy King’ and I believe that's the route that he's going," he told The Triple C & Schmo Show.
"I knew the UFC offered him a lot more than what they would have ever offered him but that being said, I think he's going to take the money route.
"He's going to fight ‘The Gypsy King,’ he’s going to do this exhibition… I believe he does deserve a 40 million dollar pay day cause that's exactly what he will get if he fights ‘The Gypsy King’.”
