Tyson Fury has drafted in drug-cheat Jarrell Miller to help him prepare for his world title defence against Dillian Whyte.
Fury will put his heavyweight belt on the line at Wembley on April 23 in the second defence of the title he won from Deontay Wilder in 2020. And he has drafted in Miller as a sparring partner despite the American's troubled past.
Miller was due to challenge then world champion Anthony Joshua in 2019 but tested positive for several banned substances in the build-up and was replaced by Andy Ruiz Jr. The Mexican-American went on to dethrone Joshua before gifting his belts back to the Brit in the rematch.
Miller, meanwhile, failed another pre-fight drug test, this time before he was due to take on Jerry Forrest in 2020. He was banned from fighting in Nevada, a suspension which is due to expire this summer.
Fury lost one of his main sparring partners last week when rising star Jared Anderson suffered an injury which saw him pull out of his fight on the undercard. Fury has also been sparring Martin Bakole and Joseph Parker ahead of his Wembley showdown.
Fury will return to the ring for the first time since he stopped Wilder in the penultimate round of their trilogy fight last October. Whyte will be fighting for the first time in 13 months having been out of action since he stopped Alexander Povetkin in their rematch.
Fury insists his 33rd professional fight will be his last, telling BT Sport: The only thing I can gain is money so after this fight I’ll have earned over £100million. If I can spend that, I don’t deserve any more, do I?
"I know Mike Tyson spent half a billion and Evander Holyfield 400million and all the rest, but I don’t live their big flash lifestyles.
"I live in Morecambe, in Lancashire. It’s cheap there. I don’t have any big habits like I’m gambling tons of money away. I don’t do anything. I can never spend the money I’ve got.
