Tyson Fury's dad's commentary of son's workout suggests champion won't retire

Tyson Fury's father John has claimed his son will not be beaten for a "very long time" during a workout in a fresh hint that the champion won't retire.

Fury recently stopped Dillian Whyte to successfully retain his heavyweight crown before confirming his plan to retire. Fans have been reluctant to believe Fury's claim he will hang up his gloves, with his wife Paris also teasing a future comeback to face Anthony Joshua if he can beat Oleksandr Usyk.

The 'Gypsy King' is currently on holiday in France with his father John and the rest of his family and has continued to work out. And his dad has claimed his son "cannot get enough" of training while commentating on his workout footage.

"He just can't stop training this man he can't get enough of it," Fury Sr said while watching the champion shadow box. "Nearly 34 in August and he is still on fire; he won't be getting beaten for a long time this man. Look at this he never stops loves it. Like I always say it is a DNA thing. I do believe this man could train for hours and hours ahead."

Fury remained firm on his plans to step away from the sport after facing Whyte, dismissing the possibility of meeting the winner of Joshua's rematch with Usyk. He has insisted he will only compete in exhibition bouts in the future, after promptly backtracking on his claim to propose a mixed-rules bout with UFC star Francis Ngannou.

The 33-year-old is in the prime of his career and would likely enter any future showdowns as favourite irrespective of the opposition. The champion will not yet be pushed on any decision to retire according to WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman. "We're going to give him the time he needs to reflect, to relax, he just did the mandatory of the division," Sulaiman told Planet Sport.

"There's no hurry to pressure him or his team into making any decisions. We will be in communications, he's having a holiday with his family. I'm not saying we will get him three months, there's no time limit right now I'm respecting the level of Tyson Fury, his private time with his family but we will talk in the near future certainly.

"We need to address the situation if he is retiring but at this time, we are just giving him the much deserved time to enjoy his holidays."

Fury's father has previously dismissed his son's claim to retire as "bull****" and believes that he would leap at the opportunity to settle his rivalry with Joshua. However the champion recently assured fans he will begin his time away from the ring and is enjoying being with his family.
