Tyson Fury's dad hits out at "maniac" Deontay Wilder after fourth fight claim

Tyson Fury's dad John has dismissed a potential fourth fight between his son and "maniac" Deontay Wilder.

Fury and Wilder have fought three times during their careers with the rivalry starting in 2018 when the pair fought to a controversial draw in an epic battle. The 'Gypsy King' got the upper hand in the rematch two years later with a dominant display on American soil, which lead to a huge war of words between the pair.

The British star was forced to face Wilder in a trilogy clash last year in which he prevailed for a second time during an epic battle which appeared to bring down the curtain on their conflict. However last week, Wilder claimed that a fourth meeting could be on the cards and he believes there is still unfinished business between the pair.

"I think that there's definitely a chance of a fourth fight again," Wilder told Sky Sports . "As long as we're all in the same division and all still currently fighting, why not? It only can lead to that. With all that being said, it's definitely a possibility."

However Fury Sr has since responded to Wilder's comments claiming that he would not give the American heavyweight another fight if he was in his son's shoes. "If I'm Tyson, I wouldn't entertain it," Fury told Mirror Fighting courtesy of FreeBets.com when assessing the chances of a third meeting. "Wilder's still adamant he was cheated out of three fights. God almighty, how can you cheat a knockout blow? How can you cheat that? So, in my book they don't deserve another payday.

"The man's a maniac. He's been knocked out twice and beat on points out of sight by a man who lost ten stone in as many months. I don't like Wilder at all, and I wouldn't give him another payday. But it's up to Tyson. I just don't like that man. He's got no personality, he's a liar and in denial. The Gypsy King flattened him on two occasions. The next time, he won't get up at all. He'll be stretchered.

"What does Wilder say? 'I want a body on my record', he's going to be the body him if he keeps on the way he's going. I don't like that man; I wouldn't give him ten bob. He's been splattered twice, where can he go? Go and fight someone else who will listen to his nonsense."

Fury currently still holds the WBC heavyweight title and was expected to face Anthony Joshua this December, but it now appears the fight may be off with other options being explored. A fight could even be enforced in the future, providing his former rival retains his status at the leading contender in the division with victories over Robert Helenius and potentially Andy Ruiz Jr.
