Tyson Fury's dad aims "toilet" jibe at Oleksandr Usyk after fight collapsed

Tyson Fury's father John has claimed Oleksandr Usyk will only fight his son when he runs out of toilet paper after their clash was delayed.

The 'Gypsy King' declared his intention to return to the ring to compete for the undisputed crown following Usyk's rematch victory over Anthony Joshua in August. Talks had already been held over a potential fight for all the marbles, with the fight initially touted to take place in December in Saudi Arabia.

However the unified champion has elected to return home and rest following his previous outing, which makes a potential fight unlikely to happen until early next year. Fury's dad John has now hit out at Usyk, claiming that a fight can be only made once Usyk decides he may be able to beat the WBC champion.

"When Usyk runs out of toilet paper, we might be able to do something good," Fury Sr told Mirror Fighting courtesy of FreeBets.com. "At the minute they're terrified, aren't they? They've not come off the toilet thinking about Tyson the Gypsy King because they know the result. They're going to get beat.

"Tyson will fight Usyk in his front garden in the middle of Ukraine in front of the Ukrainian President, how’s that? No venues needed, he’ll fight him anywhere on the planet, preferably his back garden or his kitchen or his lounge. That’s where we’re at with Usyk. Tyson’s not bothered about him at all. That's what we're in the game to do. if we have to get to that blown-up middleweight the Ukrainian we will do.

"We will chase those belts down. Tyson will chase them down and beat them unmercifully. He'll tan them up like they've never been tanned before in their life, and they know this. Usyk is on about fighting Canelo to avoid a Tyson Fury clash. What Usyk wants to do is make as much money out of the titles that he can before he has to meet the Gypsy King. He knows the belts are gone."

Usyk sustained injuries during his fight with Joshua which he will need time to recover from before pursuing all the belts which is his main goal in the blue-riband division. It is expected the 'Gypsy King' will now return to action on December 3 in a voluntary defence to keep busy for the fight, which could take place in February next year.

Despite claims he is avoiding the fight, Usyk has confirmed that he remains interested in making the bout happen next year. “I don’t know anything about what Tyson Fury is doing or thinking," Usyk told Parimatch. "We’re in negotiations talking about a match and we’re doing our best to make this bout happen.

"Of course, I really want to have this fight next year. But if Tyson Fury is not interested in a match next year, then it’s not possible to fight against him. I’m not interested in fighting any other boxer, so let’s wait.”
