Tyson Fury's mocking response to Eddie Hearn ahead of Dillian Whyte purse bid

Tyson Fury has said that he "couldn't be any happier" with less than 24 hours until his fight with Dillian Whyte goes to purse bids.

The world heavyweight champion will have to defend his WBC belt against mandatory challenger Whyte in an all-British affair later this year, with promoters bidding to carry the fight tomorrow evening.

With hours to go until the four-times rescheduled event tomorrow evening, a deal is still on the table for Fury to fight Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed title, but it would involve paying both Whyte and Anthony Joshua step aside fees.

And Fury seems to be delighted with the way things stand in the heavyweight division, telling Eddie Hearn in an Instagram video that he is overjoyed with his current status.

"Finished in the gym," he said in a laughing social media video with Hearn tagged. "I couldn't be any happier boys and girls.

"I'm in a very good mood for lots and lots of reasons - that's all I've got to say is ahahaha!"

Hearn earlier accused Fury of rejecting the change to fight Usyk for all four heavyweight titles.

Fury holds the WBC belt after two wins over Deontay Wilder in the last two years, while Usyk is the unified WBA, IBF and WBO champion after beating Joshua back in September.

And the Matchroom Boxing boss, who works closely with Whyte and is Joshua's promoter, thinks that Fury would prefer a tune-up fight in March as part of a UK homecoming at the Principality Stadium.

"After all this kerfuffle, he'll get beat by Dillian Whyte," Hearn told iFL TV of Fury today.

"The reality is, when it really came down to it, he never wanted to fight Oleksandr Usyk because he could have gone straight into a fight with him.

"But he didn't want to go straight into that fight and the public won't ever hear it, you'll just hear Fury on Instagram screaming and shouting with smoke and mirrors.

"He was not willing to fight Oleksandr Usyk next for undisputed, he wanted a fight first in March against someone else.

"Now he wants to fight Dillian Whyte, he changes his mind every day, so this whole thing was just a lot of people putting pressure on us saying 'do this, do this'.

"We said we'd look at that, so we'll see what happens."

Whyte is currently locked in a legal battle with the WBC over the purse split for his fight with Fury after they mandated a massive 80-20 split in the champion's favour.

And prior to an offer coming in from the Middle East for Fury to fight Usyk suddenly, his promoters had been floating the likes of Robert Helenius and even Manuel Charr as possible opponents.

Andy Ruiz Jr was also mentioned, but it now appears that tomorrow's purse bids will go ahead as planned and Fury will face Whyte next.
