Tyson Fury's brutal Anthony Joshua comment after $5m demand revealed by Frank Warren

Tyson Fury labelled heavyweight rival Anthony Joshua as 'greedy' following his demands to step-aside, promoter Frank Warren has revealed.

Joshua is due to face-off against Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch of their September 2021 bout, where the Brit lost his three heavyweight titles.

However, there has been a lack of movement regarding the scheduling of that bout and there was consistent reports last month that Joshua could step-aside.

That would have allowed Fury and Usyk to clash in a heavyweight unification bout in their next outings, where the first unified heavyweight champion of the four-belt era would be crowned.

Any chance of that happening collapsed last week, however, with reports that Joshua was demanding an additional $5m pay-off on top of the multi-million offer that was already tabled.

And Warren has made it clear that Fury was keen to pull the plug on the push for unification, stating that AJ was being 'greedy' with his demands.

“When Joshua asked for an extra $5million, he said, ‘Enough is enough,’ and that was it," he told talkSPORT.

“He said, ‘I’m not interested, he’s too greedy,’ and that was enough. He’s a champion – Tyson’s not beholden to Anthony Joshua. Him and Usyk wanted to get it on, both of them wanted to get it on.

“But you had two people in the middle – one was suing the WBC and the other one was asking for more and more money.”

Fury is now set to defend his WBC heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte, with the bout expected to take place in April.
