Tyson Fury's brother throws water on Dillian Whyte during fight

Tyson Fury's brother Shane appeared to throw water at Dillian Whyte during the fourth round of their heavyweight world title fight.

Fury, 33, retained his WBC heavyweight belt with a stunning sixth-round knockout, ensuring his unbeaten record remains intact. The reigning world champion dominated the fight throughout, inflicting a third professional defeat on Whyte, 34.

The fourth round of the scrap was by far the most eventful, with the two fighters often coming to blows. The most controversial incident unfolded in Fury's corner, with the champion's brother Shane appearing to hurl water in Whyte's direction.

It's believed Shane was protesting against Whyte's tactics, as the heavyweight attempted to disrupt Fury's rhythm and get back into the contest. Whyte's actions proved powerless and Fury went on to defend his WBC crown and undefeated record.

"Fury was comfortable all the way through that - boxed and moved and set that uppercut up so nicely," tweeted former Olympic heavyweight champion Audley Harrison. "Whyte needed to fight at a higher pace and tempo, but fury did a good job."

Shortly before Fury's knockout blow, former heavyweight world champion Lennox Lewis told BT Sport: "Dillian Whyte needs to pick it up a bit more. Tyson is getting the punches to the body which is zapping Whyte's energy.

"That is why you are seeing Dillian opening his mouth and breathing because he is getting tired. Tyson is doing the right thing by staying on the outside. He is winning."

Speaking after the fight, Fury hinted at retirement. "This might be the final curtain call for the Gypsy King," admitted the WBC champion. Boxing fans will hope that's not the case, as many want to see him fight Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.

Fury went on to say: "My England! We are Spartans! I just want to say, I'm overwhelmed with the support and I cannot believe that my 94,000 countrymen and women have come here tonight to see me perform. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much to every single person who bought a ticket here tonight or stayed up late to watch this on TV.

"Dillian Whyte is a warrior, and I believe he will be a world champion. But tonight, he met a great in the sport. I'm one of the greatest heavyweights of all times and unfortunately for Dillian Whyte, he had to face me here tonight.

"There's no disgrace, he's a tough, game man who's as strong as a bull and he's got the heart of a lion. You're not messing with a mediocre heavyweight, you're messing with the best heavyweight on the planet and that's what you've seen tonight.

"As a professional, it was an uppercut and even Lennox Lewis would be proud of that right uppercut tonight.

"I also want to say, this man here, SugarHill Steward, made me the great fighter that I am. Years ago, I used to jib and jab, touch and slide, but you've seen now tonight, Sugar, what a legend you are, mate. You've made me the biggest puncher in the heavyweight division by a mile. This man is the best trainer in world boxing including anybody. Unbelievable tonight, we were.

"I promised my lovely wife Paris of 14 years that after the Wilder 3 fight, that would be it. I meant it, we had a war, it was a great trilogy and I meant that. But I got offered to fight at Wembley at home and I believe I owed it to the fans, every person in the United Kingdom to come here and fight at Wembley... what a way to go out, a big thank you to the United Kingdom!"

Fury's wife Paris said the WBC champion had nothing more to prove to the world of boxing. She told talkSPORT: "The world has seen him reach the pinnacle. He's just proved it again, the top quality that he is.

"I don't enjoy this one bit. This is great, the celebratory bit. But all the lead-up and actual fight is a horrible situation to be in. He's got nothing else to prove in the whole world."
