Tyson Fury responds to “bully” Conor McGregor after “bottled it” jibe

Tyson Fury has labelled Conor McGregor a "bully" after the Irishman targeted him in a recent attack on Twitter.

McGregor said Fury "bottled it" for not stepping in when Billy Joe Saunders' dad was shoved by security at the Canelo Alvarez fight last May.

Saunders suffered a broken eye socket when was stopped by Alvarez and as the Brit's father attempted to run to the ring, he was forcibly pushed by security which led to a scuffle taking place.

WBC heavyweight champion Fury was among Saunders' friends and family, but didn't jump over the barrier and offer his support.

And McGregor made sure to let Fury know about the incident after 'The Gypsy King' praised his UFC rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

"Yup the Joyces. Big Joe! U bottled it with Billy joe Da, what were you doing there ? ULeft him, Versace t*** U.Done. Nothing, McGregor wrote to Fury on Twitter.

"Ya’s did it right ye right hahahahaaj. Even when I’m wrong i’m right. Who did it right ? The Mac daddy tonight, in house. Miami d12! Bahamas."

Fury later replied to McGregor's tweet by taking aim at his l osing form in the octagon and a 2019 incident in which he punched an elderly man at a pub.

"Come back when u win a fight mush," Fury replied to McGregor's tweet.

"The difference in me and you is I don’t get myself in trouble and people actually like me, your just a bully who hit old man and yes Big up the hulk Joe."

It's not the first time Fury and McGregor have traded words, as Fury has previously accused the former two-weight UFC champion of "copying" his persona.

'The Gypsy King' has also teased a move to MMA and said McGregor offered to train him for his debut, but the Irishman later claimed the pair had never spoken before.

Although he was confused by Fury's comments, McGregor said he "let it roll" because he was a fan of the heavyweight champion.

Fury's links to the UFC have been discussed recently in light of his crossover fight with Francis Ngannou, who will be free to leave the promotion in December.

The Brit will need to focus on his upcoming WBC title defence against Dillian Whyte in April before thinking about a fight with 'The Predator'.

As for McGregor, he is expected to make his octagon return in the summer after being sidelined with a broken tibia he suffered against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

'Notorious' has been linked with fights against Tony Ferguson, Michael Chandler and Nate Diaz upon his octagon return.
