Tyson Fury questions Jake Paul's viewing figures after failed Tommy fight

Tyson Fury has branded Jake Paul's viewing figures "pathetic" after facing Tyron Woodley instead of Fury's brother Tommy.

Paul defeated former UFC champion Woodley in a rematch last December after Fury's brother withdrew from the clash with a broken rib and chest infection.

Reports indicated that Paul's recent pay-per-view achieved significantly lest with just 60,000 buys confirmed after the late-notice replacement of opponent.

Fury has now claimed that Paul "needs" his brother to sell a pay-per-view in the millions.

“The mistake that people make is trying to make everyone happy and you can’t," Fury told Queensberry Promotions. "That’s his business and his injury, so when he gets over that he’ll get back boxing.

“Frank’s going to keep him busy this year and hopefully he gets the fights he wants and he fights. It’s quite clear to see now that Jake Paul needs Tommy Fury.

"Jake Paul did 60,000 buys against his last opponent, which is pathetic. If he’d have fought Tommy, it would’ve been in the millions.

“I know it’s not through Tommy. Tommy wants to fight, he wants to get it back on but I don’t think they fancy it, so it is what it is. They’re good for what they do and at what they do and that’s it."

Fury has returned to training after his broken rib and is looking to make a return to action this spring.

However fans quickly reminded him of his withdrawal on social media claiming that he "fumbled" a shot with Paul.

He remains keen to challenge Paul this year after his withdrawal and wants a rescheduled date to prove the YouTube star is "scared" of the fight.

His rival branded the pay-per-view figures leak "bull****" despite claiming it wasn't his "best night".

Paul has refused to commit to a rescheduled date with Fury and is seeking a return to action in the latter stages of 2022.

The 25-year-old has claimed he is yet to find an opponent that motivates him to re-enter training camp and he is currently focused on the promotion of Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano.

After the fight was previously based on Fury's victory over Anthony Taylor, Paul would like to see Fury face former rival Woodley first to secure a new date.

"He’s delusional and he sort of missed his chance and his opportunity," Paul said during an appearance on the MMA Hour when a fight next month March was mentioned.

"I sort of want him to fight Tyron Woodley and see what happens there. Because I think Tyron would knock Tommy out, so, I almost want to have them fight.

"Tommy, people only know him because of me, and so I want him to go get some of your own fans, or clout, or go do some other thing. Then, maybe we could run it back after that.”
