Tyson Fury mocks rival Anthony Joshua for using mattress as punching bag

Tyson Fury has branded Anthony Joshua a "proper sausage" for using a mattress in place of a punching bag.

Joshua, 33, is gearing up for a planned rematch against domestic rival Dillian Whyte in August. The fight was seemingly off when Whyte refused to sign a contract unless a rematch clause was removed but Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn then revised his offer. 'AJ' posted a video of himself on Snapchat preparing for the fight by punching a bed mattress and Fury was quick to mock him for the clip.

Fans also joined in with Fury by mocking Joshua for the bizarre clip as one user wrote: "Him and his mattress got matching jackets". Another comment read: "There's one thing doing this for fun for 10 seconds, and it's another thing recording yourself actually using a mattress as a heavy bag."

Fury is struggling to book a fight after the collapse of his undisputed heavyweight title fight against Oleksandr Usyk, which was expected to take place in December but has been pushed back again. The fight was supposed to take place in Saudi Arabia on the same event as Joshua's pencilled-in clash against Deontay Wilder.

'The Gypsy King' claimed he reached out to Joshua's team last month about a potential fight in September, but the request was turned down by Joshua's team as they want him to fight in August. Hearn denied ever receiving Fury's offer and labelled him as desperate for the fight demand.

Fury's promoter Frank Warren has teased a "game-changing" opponent for the heavyweight champion next and Hearn claimed that will be former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. "Yes, I believe so, this is what I've heard. It will be an exhibition apparently, no knockdowns or anything," Hearn told Boxing Social of a fight between Fury and Ngannou.

"I'm only telling you what I've heard. Who knows what's what, but I think that is apparently what is going to be the next fight. [It's] disappointing, but it is what it is. It's a big event, but I wanted to see him fight Oleksandr Usyk. It'd be nice to get an undisputed champion, but Tyson's in charge of his own career and I'm sure he's gonna make a load of money, good luck to him."
