Tyson Fury leaves dad John with bruised face after punching him in training

Tyson Fury left his dad John sporting a bruised nose after catching him with a punch during training.

The WBC heavyweight champion revealed yesterday he will defend his title against mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte next.

It comes after Anthony Joshua pondered stepping aside from his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk to allow the Ukrainian into an undisputed clash with Fury.

A row has now erupted over whether Joshua decided against accepting the deal or whether Fury rejected a fight with Usyk.

Fury is training in Morecambe for his upcoming fight alongside the likes of former world titleholder Joseph Parker and his father John.

And Fury laughed at his father after bruising his nose with a punch during their training session.

"How does it feel to take a right hander off the heavyweight champion of the world," Fury asked his father in the video.]

"It wasn't a right hander was it, it was a four ounce smash in the face. The bottom of my f***ing nose is numb. Thank you very much for that son," John replied.

Fury has gone back and forth with Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn since the news broke that Joshua wouldn't step aside from his rematch.

Hearn accused Fury of never wanting to fight Usyk and backed Whyte to be the first man to defeat him as a professional.

"After all this kerfuffle, he'll get beat by Dillian Whyte," Hearn told iFL TV about Fury.

"The reality is, when it really came down to it, he never wanted to fight Oleksandr Usyk because he could have gone straight into a fight with him.

"But he didn't want to go straight into that fight and the public won't ever hear it, you'll just hear Fury on Instagram screaming and shouting with smoke and mirrors.

"He was not willing to fight Oleksandr Usyk next for undisputed, he wanted a fight first in March against someone else. Now he wants to fight Dillian Whyte.

"He changes his mind every day, so this whole thing was just a lot of people putting pressure on us saying 'do this, do this'. We said we'd look at that, so we'll see what happens."

Fury has since laughed off Hearn's comments and said he "couldn't be any happier" after announcing his fight with Whyte.

"Finished in the gym," he said in a video with Hearn tagged. "I couldn't be any happier boys and girls. I'm in a very good mood for lots and lots of reasons."

Purse bids for Fury's fight with Whyte were postponed for the fourth time on Tuesday and will now take place at 6pm this evening.
