Tyson Fury hints at WWE switch but insists he has "lots of fights" to take care of first

Tyson Fury has suggested he could permanently join WWE in the future - but insisted he has ‘lots of fights’ left in his professional boxing career.

On Thursday, Fury announced on Instagram that he'll be ringside in Cardiff for the first major live show in the United Kingdom in 30 years. The Gypsy King - who is unbeaten in his career - retired from boxing earlier this year but is reportedly considering returning to face Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury competed in WWE in 2019 and made a spectacular entrance at WWE Crown Jewel. Many wondered if the 34-year-old was going to interfere with the anticipated main event between Reigns and McIntryre - but fans were surprised by the moment.

With Reigns and McIntrye down in the ring, Theory’s music blasted and the crowd packed into the Principality Stadium erupted as he attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. However, the WBC champion came from nowhere to land a vicious punch on the side of the unwitting Theory’s head, with the prospective challenger collapsing to the ground.

Fury then stared down Reigns - who retained his title to keep his 733-day title reign intact - in the ring before shaking his hand. Fans suggest the moment appears to be setting up a potential feud or match between Fury and McIntyre down the line.

The moment came three years after Fury defeated Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel in a successful in-ring debut. The Gypsy King has refused to rule out switching from being a prizefighter to become a WWE superstar - but only once his in-ring career as a boxing champion is over.

“At the moment I'm a heavyweight world champion, and I have plenty of fights I have to take care of over the next few years,” Fury said. “But I really, really have a passion for WWE. Never say never.”

Do you think Tyson Fury should switch boxing for WWE? Let us know in the comments section.

Fury had originally announced his retirement from boxing after he knocked out Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in April. However, it did not take long for him to be tempted back to contest the sport’s first-ever four-belt heavyweight unification.

After he defeated Anthony Joshua in their anticipated rematch, Usyk appeared to be in line for a blockbuster contest against Fury after the Brit confirmed he was ‘un-retiring’ to attempt to unify the heavyweight division. The Ukrainian is set to hold onto his WBC belt after he relinquished the Ring Magazine title, which Usyk claimed with his win last weekend.

Usyk plans to rest and recover with his loved ones while Fury revealed he will announce his return fight next week. The Gypsy King added: “Usyk was calling me out after his last fight with Joshua, I’ve replied and said let’s do the fight this year, wherever they want to do it.

“I’ve been waiting for offers from countries to come forward, and all of a sudden Usyk has stated he doesn’t want to fight any more, he wants to fight next year, not this year. So, I’m not going to wait around for anybody, I’m announcing a fight next week.”
