Tyson Fury had conversation with Dillian Whyte as he was hurting challenger

Tyson Fury shared a conversation with Dillian Whyte after landing a whipping body shot which his rival confirmed had hurt him.

Fury and Whyte duelled for the heavyweight title in front of a record 94,000 crowd at Wembley Stadium, with the 'Gypsy King' looking to make a second consecutive defence of his crown. The champion prevailed on the night landing a huge right uppercut to close the show and continue his remarkable undefeated record in the ring.

The champion had hurt the challenger prior to the knockdown that ultimately ended the fight, with Fury confirming he kept catching Whyte with the left hook. "I kept clipping him with that check hook," Fury said after the meeting. "We have practiced on the pads, bang bang. The one thing that amazed me, I hit the 'Body Snatcher' with a left hook to the body and I said to him you are hurt aren't you 'Body Snatcher' and he said 'yeah'. It was funny."

Fury began the contest at a superb pace and was comprehensively outboxing his rival who was finding it exceptionally hard to close the distance between the pair. Fury used his six feet nine inch frame to his advantage throughout the opening five rounds and started to create more openings to land more damaging blows to his challenger.

In the sixth round Fury landed the ultimate blow hitting his opponent with a well-timed right uppercut to drop him to the canvas. Whyte rose to his feet and tried to maintain his balance when asked to walk towards referee Mike Lyson, but was clearly way off-balance and the contest was halted.

The 'Gypsy King' retained his heavyweight title once again and continued his incredible undefeated streak in the boxing ring. Fury and Whyte embraced after the final bell with the 'Body Snatcher' left with no complaints over the swift nature of the stoppage.

After Whyte stumbled desperately towards the referee, Fury pleaded with the official to call it a day for the pair amid fears his opponent could suffer serious damage if he was forced to head-hunt in the next stanza. "It was definitely a great shot," Fury said after the fight. "I was very happy with the referee Mark Lyson because if he would have allowed it to continue and me to storm in and hit him with two or three more, then he could have been in big trouble.

"He made a fantastic call because he was all over the place. I was actually concerned even though I just had chinned him. I was actually concerned it would be allowed to continue and I was like 'no ref don't let it go on' because I would have had to take him out and I didn't really want to do that. But the referee made the right decision and that was it."
