Tyson Fury interfered and stopped Austin Theory from cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase during Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle.
On Thursday, Fury announced on Instagram that he would be ringside in Cardiff for the first major live show in the United Kingdom in 30 years. The Gypsy King - who is unbeaten in his career - retired from boxing earlier this year but is reportedly considering returning to face Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury competed in WWE in 2019 and made a spectacular entrance at WWE Crown Jewel. Many wondered if the 34-year-old was going to interfere with the anticipated main event between Reigns and McIntryre - but fans were surprised by the moment.
With Reigns and McIntryre down in the ring, Theory’s music blasted and the crowd packed into the Principality Stadium erupted as he attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Per WWE rules, Theory’s briefcase contains a contract for a championship match which can be ‘cashed in’ by the holder at any point.
Theory saw his opportunity to take advantage with the duo down in the ring, and he frantically dragged a referee down the ramp to get on with the contest. However, right as Theory was set to try and secure his maiden world title, Fury left his mark.
The WBC champion came from nowhere to land a vicious punch on the side of the unwitting Theory’s head, with the prospective challenger collapsing to the ground. The commentator team could not believe their eyes, excitedly exclaiming: “Oh my god!

“ Tyson Fury just knocked the hell out of Theory. What the hell did he do that for?” Fury then stared down Reigns - who retained his title to keep his 732-day title reign intact - in the ring before shaking his hand. Fans suggest the moment appears to be setting up a potential feud or match between Fury and McIntyre down the line.
After he defeated Anthony Joshua in their anticipated rematch, Usyk appeared to be in line for a blockbuster contest against Fury after the Brit confirmed he was ‘un-retiring’ to attempt to unify the heavyweight division. The Ukrainian is set to hold onto his WBC belt after he relinquished the Ring Magazine title, which Usyk claimed with his win last weekend.
The Gypsy King had originally announced his retirement from boxing after he knocked out Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in April. It did not take long for him to be tempted back to contest the sport’s first-ever four-belt heavyweight unification.
