Tyson Fury has aimed a thinly-veiled dig at Conor McGregor by suggesting his best days are well behind him.
The 'Gypsy King' was embroiled in a bizarre online feud with the UFC star last week with the pair trading verbal jabs on Twitter.
Fury praised McGregor's bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov for his career in the UFC, which provoked a mocking response from the Irishman.
Now the heavyweight champion has praised McGregor for earning well during his fighting career, and played down any real rivalry between the pair.
Fury told Queensberry Promotions : "Yeah that was Super Bowl weekend, a great time to get some publicity. Great timing, actually. We were trending all over Instagram, Twitter, Facebook. Pretty good, pretty good work.
“I think he’s alright. He’s a good fighter, isn’t he? Or, well, he has been a good fighter in the past. It is what it is. Man’s doing his thing, earning a few quid, paying for his family. Can’t complain, can you?”
McGregor has suffered a noticeable decline in recent years having lost three of his last four fights which included back-to-back losses to Dustin Poirier.
The Irishman remains arguably the sport's biggest superstar having sold eight of the top ten best-selling pay-per-views.
He is currently out of action after breaking his leg last July and has been involved in several furious spats online with high-profile figures.
McGregor quickly attacked Fury on Twitter after his praise for Nurmagomedov by mocking him for his lack of action after Billy Joe Saunders' father was assaulted ringside at Canelo Alvarez's fight with his son.
"Yup the Joyces. Big Joe! U bottled it with Billy joe Da, what were you doing there ? You left him, Versace t*** You .Done. Nothing, McGregor wrote to Fury on Twitter.
"Ya’s did it right ye right hahahahaa. Even when I’m wrong I’m right. Who did it right? The Mac daddy tonight, in house. Miami d12! Bahamas."

Fury quickly fired back: "Come back when you win a fight mush," he said. "And the difference in me and you is I don’t get myself in trouble and people actually like me, you're just a bully who hit old man."
McGregor later backed down from the heated exchanges after an old video emerged of Fury heaping praise on the 33-year-old during an old interview.
Several fans claimed McGregor got the better of the trash-talking tweets with the pair well-known for their ability to capture an audience.
After the feud ended, Fury later added on the MMA Hour: "A 150lb guy in a totally different sport, how could he beef with me? It’s not even a thing.
"Obviously he was trying to reach for a bit of fame on Super Bowl weekend. It’s called Super Bowl weekend fever, everybody gets it!
"They know they can make some headlines and who better to call out than the Big Mac himself. I’ve got no issues at all.”
