Tyson Fury has been told he is "taking the cheap route" after claiming his upcoming title defence against Dillian Whyte will be his final fight in boxing.
The 'Gypsy King' will defend his WBC heavyweight crown against domestic rival Dillian Whyte on April 23 at Wembley Stadium.
Fury has raised the stakes further by claiming it will be his last boxing appearance before hanging up his gloves.
And UFC legend Chael Sonnen was left disappointed with Fury's announcement and the fact it throws into doubt a planned clash with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
"It's disappointing to see Tyson Fury turn into one of the rest of the guys," Sonnen said on his YouTube channel. "He's done such a good job in his whole career to make sure he's not one of the other guys.
"He stands out and does it on his own but he's taking the cheap route here. It's okay... it's okay. But if that's still the information that you have and you've got to operate under it, can we at least agree as it pertains to Francis [this] just made his situation different?
"Can we call it different?... So what does he do now? I'm curious. I have my guesses. I have my hopes. I happen to like watching Francis fight. I happen to not think he's a very good boxer.
"I happen to think he's something real special in MMA. The sport of boxing who's trying to steal our guy say the same."
Fury has previously hinted at retirement after admitting he has conquered all of his goals in the sport since becoming two-time heavyweight champion.
Previously the 33-year-old had suggested he would not retire until he has settled his rivalry with Anthony Joshua after their planned bout collapsed last year.

It remains to be seen if Fury could challenge the winner of Joshua's rematch with Oleksandr Usyk later this year if the fight can be made due to Usyk's involvement in defending Ukraine from Russian invasion.
However he has since suggested that if a crossover bout with UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou can be made, he would be willing to come out of retirement.
Despite his recent achievements, Fury has suggested he is running out of time in his prime and a victory over Whyte would see him remain undefeated.
"I haven't got a lot left in me but the old dog has still got a got a couple of big fights left in him," Fury told the Pat McAfee Show. "Think of all the hard work I won't have to do, I will drink alcohol and get f***** up.
"I have been in boxing over 20 years, I have a lot of wear and tear but I am the undefeated two-time heavyweight champion.
"I'll be the second one it is like an elite club with elite boxers only, just two of a kind. I still feel like I have a lot left to prove in this fight, I want to go out as the undefeated champion. I want to make a Hollywood movie on my life after boxing."
