English golfer Tyrrell Hatton emerged victorious at the Dubai Desert Classic, clinching the title by a single stroke over Daniel Hillier of New Zealand. This win marked Hatton's fifth Rolex Series victory, equaling the record set by Jon Rahm.

In a thrilling final round, Hatton maintained his composure despite the pressure from Hillier, who birdied the last hole to challenge for the lead. Hatton's clutch performance, including sinking a crucial par putt from seven feet, secured him the prestigious title.

Reflecting on his achievement, Hatton expressed his elation, describing the event as iconic and a dream come true to have his name etched among the tournament's esteemed champions.

The Rolex Series, known for its elevated purses, features select events each season, with Hatton's last victory in such a tournament dating back to Abu Dhabi in 2021.

Finishing at 15 under overall, Hatton's final round score of 3-under 69 edged out Hillier (71) and Laurie Canter (68) who secured third place, just one shot behind.

Despite nerves on the back nine, Hatton admitted to wanting the win badly. Hillier, ranked 223rd globally, acknowledged his own performance, describing it as bittersweet and commending Hatton's solid play under pressure.

Rory McIlroy, aiming for a third consecutive title at the tournament, finished joint fourth at 12 under alongside Niklas Norgaard of Denmark. Noteworthy was Japan's Keita Nakajima's albatross at the par-five 18th hole.

Overall, the Dubai Desert Classic showcased intense competition and remarkable displays of skill, with Hatton emerging as the deserving champion.
