Tyrone GAA lose appeal against red cards following Armagh brawl

Tyrone have lost their appeal against the red cards handed out to four of their players after a brawl broke out in their Allianz Football League Division One clash with Armagh.

Captain Padraig Hampsey, Kieran McGeary, Michael McKernan and Peter Harte were all sent off following the melee at the Athletic Grounds on February 6.

Armagh's Greg McCabe was also dismissed by referee David Gough.

The All-Ireland champions appealed the decision, but all four head cards were upheld following a meeting at Croke Park on Monday night, reports the Irish Mirror.

The Red Hands have picked up just one point from their opening two league games and are in need of a win when they host Kildare in Omagh on Sunday.
