Tyrell Malacia reacts to Manchester United debut vs Liverpool FC

Tyrell Malacia says he is hoping to bring 'energy and assists' to the Manchester United team after making his debut against Liverpool on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old came on at half-time of United's 4-0 win in Bangkok and caught the eye with his energetic style of play and clever defensive work.

Malacia became Erik ten Hag's first United signing when he joined the club from Feyenoord last week, signing a contract until June 2026, with the option of an additional year.

Now that the left-back has got his first taste of football in a United shirt, he is desperate for more, and in particular, he can't wait to play in the Premier League next season.

"I'm very happy," he told MUTV after his debut. "It feels amazing to be here and wearing this shirt. It was difficult because the weather is very hot, but we made it. I hope to defend well, get some assists and give some energy to the team.

"Yeah it is (different to the Dutch league). Of course, it is a dream for me to play there, and now I am here."
