Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill made headlines with his comments following his team’s defeat in the regular season finale. There was clear sentiment behind the message when Hill stated “I’m out, bro” in regard to his future with the team, which set off a storm of rumors and speculation about his overall happiness in Miami.
Nearly three weeks later, the 31-year-old former All-Pro spoke about his emotions that day, and did his best to clear the air on what exactly he meant by his rash comments.
Tyreek Hill Speaks On His Controversial Postseason Comments
2024 was a disappointing season for the Dolphins. After producing one of the most high-powered offenses in recent memory the season prior, Mike McDaniel and company struggled to find the same results. Despite a talented roster, Miami missed the playoffs for the first time in three years, and extended their post-season win drought, which is the longest of any team in North American professional sports.
Tyreek Hill was clearly frustrated with the situation. Due to a handful of reasons, the wide receiver failed to top 1,000 yards after leading the league with 1,799 the year prior, and scored just 6 touchdowns after combining for 20 during his first two seasons with the Dolphins. In the final game of the year against the Jets, he caught just 2 passes for 20 yards, and his irritation with the entire situation boiled over during his media availability after the contest.
caught Tyreek Hill while scrolling my FYP talking about *that* interview. as David Furones would report, Tyreek Hill says that “came from a place of frustration,” and we need “motha f*ckin’ dawgs.” and, of course, he will be coming back stronger and faster. pic.twitter.com/kqeCZKhpXp

Hill pointed out that it was the first time that he’d missed the playoffs in his career, and he was able to convey the level of his frustration by stating plainly that he wanted “out” of Miami.
On Saturday morning, he spoke on the incident. While streaming and playing Fortnite, he said the following:
“What y’all had heard at the end of the season was frustration…I’ve been winning my whole life, bruh…I bust my ass every day, so I deserve to feel like that. I deserve to have some kind of opinion. Y’all just want me to say, ‘oh well, we’ll get ‘em next year’. Nah. F*ck that…Y’all gotta fix this sh*t, bruh. Add some mother f*cking dogs in this b*tch”
The Dolphins have been considered a finesse team since the arrival of coach McDaniel. They’ve been highly successful against teams below .500, but have continued to have terrible showings late in the season against high-quality opponents. It has turned into them having the label of “soft”.
Tyreek Hill skipped the final day of practice during the season heading into the game against the Jets. He was listed as a non-participant due to an “illness”, and instead was found making an appearance and working the register at his clothing store in a local mall.
