The Miami Dolphins have everything to play for this coming Sunday. They have an outside chance of qualifying for the playoffs for the 2024-25 season, and they’ll need some help in order to do so. But they first must take down the New York Jets on the road with a roster already riddled with injuries, and there are question marks about star wide receiver Tyreek Hill and his status for the game.
Tyreek Hill Misses Practice, Appears At His Clothing Store Instead
Hill missed the final practice of the week on Friday with what was listed as an illness. But social media proved that he was not at home resting and taking medicine, but was instead working the register at his apparel store in South Florida.
The player who was ranked #1 on NFL Network’s Top 100 Players List this past year has taken pride in being a troll online. Hill has been known to stir controversy with his posts on Twitter/X, often inciting the ire of Dolphins’ faithful and the fans who believe that he should take his job and role more seriously.

It hasn’t helped that he is having the least-productive season of his career since his rookie year. Tyreek Hill is averaging under 60 yards per game, nearly half of the 112 that he averaged last season when he led the NFL. He has had some mistakes in crucial moments that have critics not only question whether he is aging out of being one of the elite receivers in the game, but also wondering about his level of commitment.
So while the Dolphins gear up for their win-or-go-home game in New York this weekend, Hill was absent for Friday’s practice. It didn’t seem like his condition affected his ability to be out and about though, as he made an appearance Soul Runner, the apparel store that he owns inside the Aventura Mall about 8 miles from the practice facility in Miami Gardens.

He certainly wasn’t trying to hide it, either. He decided to go live on his TikTok account while he worked the register at the store, broadcasting his activities to whoever wanted to watch them via social media. When a fan took a screenshot and pointed out that he was at the store rather than at practice, Hill quote-tweeted the post with a caption of “Yeah come through”.
Tyreek Hill is listed as questionable on the final injury report for the Dolphins. He is 61 yards shy of achieving the 1,000 yard mark for the 7th healthy season in a row, which is slightly below his average for the year.
