Tynemouth foodies are in for a treat next month as dozens of local street food vendors set up shop in the sunshine to serve up a huge range of tasty treats.
The coastal town's annual Food Festival is returning for the weekend of Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14, once again located in the picturesque grounds of Tynemouth Priory and Castle. Organisers North Tyneside Council have promised an extra-tasty weekend packed with some of the North East's favourite street food, as well as bars, market stalls, kids' entertainment and live music.
This will mark the 11th outing for the festival, following on from the roaring success of last year's 10th anniversary celebrations. Alongside plenty of food - including burgers, tacos, pizza and loaded fries - there will be children's cooking classes, face painting, crafts and sports sessions for a fun family day out with something for all ages to enjoy.
