Two-time world champion Tyler Wright has booked her semi-final berth in convincing fashion at the season-opening World Surf League event in Hawaii.
The 28-year-old Australian took on Tatiana Weston-Webb in the quarter-finals and out-surfed the Brazilian, winning the showdown with a combined total of 11.67 to 1.16.
Wright, who finished third at Pipeline last year, controlled the clash with superior wave selection, with two short barrel rides, while world No.4 Weston-Webb struggled to find a scoring wave in the inconsistent conditions.
Wright, who finished last season ranked world No.8, will take on American Lakey Peterson in the final four.
The women had not surfed a round since last Friday with only two days of the Billabong Pro competition completed in more than a week.
The men have surfed round one plus the elimination, with all seven Australian men advancing to the last-32.
Australia's reigning world champion Stephanie Gilmore was a shock elimination, losing in the sudden-death round against two American teenagers.
