Tyler the Creator has finally unveiled his latest album IGOR.
The Odd Future star dropped the 12 track record, which is the follow-up to 2017’s Flower Boy, at midnight on Friday after teasing its impending arrival on social media.
Tyler (full name Tyler Gregory Okonma) has become known for pushing the boundaries of rap in his lyrics, his production and his album artwork, and the musician has warned fans not to “go into this expecting a rap album.”
Here’s everything you need to know about the rap star’s brand new release.
What do we know about Tyler the Creator's new album IGOR?
Before he dropped IGOR, Tyler shared a detailed set of instructions with his fans about how best to enjoy the album.
“Don’t go into this expecting a rap album,” he wrote on Twitter. “Don’t go into this expecting any album. Just go, jump into it.”
He then advised his followers to listen “all the way through, no skips” at first.
“Front to back. No distractions either,” he wrote. “No checking your phone no watching tv no holding convo, full attn. towards the sounds where you can form your own opinions and feelings towards the album. Some go on walks, some drive, some lay in bed and sponge it all up.”
“Whatever it is you choose, fully indulge. With volume.”
What is the IGOR tracklist?
The album opens – somewhat appropriately – with Igor’s Theme and goes on to feature a Kanye West cameo on Puppet and a Call Me By Your Name reference in I Think (Tyler is a well-documented fan of Luca Guardagnino’s film and previously namechecked actor Timothee Chalamet in his single OKRA.)
It also includes collaborations with the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Al Green and Charlie Wilson.
The full track list is as follows:
1. Igor’s Theme
2. Earfquake
3. I Think
4. Exactly What You Run From You End Up Chasing
5. Running Out Of Time
6. New Magic Wand
7. A Boy Is A Gun
8. Puppet
9. What’s Good
10. Gone, Gone / Thank You
11. I Don’t Love You Anymore
