Leeds United loanee Tyler Roberts has claimed it was a mutual decision between him and Jesse Marsch to depart in the summer. Roberts made the season-long-loan switch to Queens Park Rangers during the window in search of regular game time.
The Wales international was entering the campaign with QPR on the back off a serious hamstring injury at the back end of last season. He has therefore had to overcome a couple of slight, niggly issues at the start of the current campaign, which he has managed to do.
Roberts netted his first league goal of the season on Saturday as Michael Beale’s side earned an impressive 2-1 win at Bristol City. Speaking after the game, Roberts spoke of how staying fit and becoming a regular goal scorer are what he is looking to do after leaving Leeds.

Speaking to West London Sport, he said: “I had been injured as soon as the new manager came in so he hadn’t really seen me play. Throughout the summer, with the way we ended last season, they [Leeds] were always going to get in new players and the give the manager his own transfer window.
“I was just one of the fringe players. I wasn’t pushed out. It was a mutual agreement to go and get my games and prove to people I can stay fit and score goals.
“That is obviously a big thing for any player in the summer transfer window – you have to be out there playing or you are going to be at risk of missing World Cup selection.”
