Tyler Higbee taken to hospital with chest injury, is in stable condition

Tyler Higbee was having his best game of the season Monday night, catching five passes for 58 yards in the first quarter alone. He unfortunately suffered a chest injury in the second quarter that knocked him out of the game, leaving the Rams without their leading receiver on the night.

Sean McVay provided an update on Higbee after the Rams’ 27-9 win over the Vikings, telling reporters that the tight end is at a local hospital being treated. Added that Higbee is in stable condition and is expected to “be OK,” which is excellent news.

It’s always scary when a player has to be taken to a hospital for further evaluation, so it’s good to hear Higbee is doing OK.

Higbee returned from offseason knee and shoulder surgeries this year, coming back in Week 16 against the Jets. He played the final three games of the regular season and scored two touchdowns, leading all Rams tight ends in that department.

The Rams face the Eagles in the next round of the playoffs less than a week from now, a Sunday afternoon game at 3 p.m. ET.
