Tyler Herro, man. This dude seems to be a Heat lifer, much to the regret of his team.
Despite Miami’s seemingly constant efforts to dangle him out there as a trade chip for whatever superstar comes across the board, Herro always somehow just manages to remain exactly where he’s at — in Miami.
To be fair to Miami, the team had a shot at picking up Damian Lillard. It’s hard not to do everything possible to try and get him on the squad — including trading Herro. That’s understandable. Well, at least for us, it is.
But Herro seems to be kind of irritated by it at this point. He posted an Instagram story a few days ago during the Lillard talks featuring a Rod Wave song about having “no friends in this business,” which definitely feels spot on considering the situation.
Now, after the Lillard trade is done, Herro still seems to feel a way about it. ESPN posted a tweet about Herro remaining with the Heat after being in the Lillard trade talks.
Herro quote tweeted ESPN’s post and said “until next summer.” Basically, he knows this is happening again.
Until next summer.. 😭✌🏼 https://t.co/Vxeczn5AqB

It kind of is what it is at this point. The business of the NBA revolves around the league’s star players. That’s how teams win games. Any team would be willing to move Heaven, Earth, Tyler Herro and everyone else just to get their hands on a proven star like Lillard or whoever else. So, inevitably, this will happen again.
It’s just kind of sad considering that Herro has to keep dealing with this over and over again.
Such is life in the NBA, I guess.
