Tyler Adams has admitted he has been surprised at just how big of a club Leeds United is since his summer arrival at Elland Road. Adams made the switch from Red Bull Leipzig during the window and has slotted into the side seamlessly, establishing himself quickly as a fan favourite.
The 23-year-old has started 13 of Leeds' 14 Premier League matches so far this season and his arrival came just a matter of days after Kalvin Phillips left for Manchester City. On early evidence, Adams has not felt the pressure of coming in to replace Phillips, and has arguably been Leeds' player of the season so far.
Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, Adams discussed his initial thoughts of when he knew about Leeds' interest in the summer and admitted while he was well clued up about the club, the fans and culture has still been a shock.

He said: “When Leeds came calling, I knew a lot about the club through the documentary, and the history of the club. I didn’t completely understand the gratitude of how big the club is. The fans, the culture is a completely different level.”
Adams is now getting ready to represent USA at the World Cup in Qatar in just a few days' time, in what will be his first major tournament at international level. Rather intriguingly, he could be set to go directly up against the aforementioned Phillips when USA face England on Friday, providing both are selected to play.
