Tyler Adams calls for 'change in mentality' at Leeds United after damaging defeat

Tyler Adams says Leeds United require a 'change in mentality' to translate performances into results in the Premier League under Jesse Marsch.

Brennan Johnson's first half volley condemned Leeds to a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest, and extended the Whites' winless run in the Premier League to seven games.

Only goal difference separate Leeds from the relegation zone, and the pressure is cranking up on Marsch, with the Whites collecting only two wins from their last 17 league games in total.

Adams acknowledges that Leeds have progressed stylistically, but admits a lot more must be done to arrest their perilous slide down the Premier League table.

"It's definitely not clear why [Leeds cannot find ways of winning games]," Adams told LUTV. "You could see the progress over the these last run of games we've had.

"We've definitely had a turnaround in the way that we're playing, especially with the ball. We've emphasized a lot - controlling the game a little bit more with the ball, and not just being a team that's strong against the ball.

"You can definitely see our development in that part of the game. But again, the next step in our development is obviously scoring more goals and then controlling the game from that standpoint.

"We definitely need to have a little bit of a change of mentality now moving forward. Especially against these bigger teams because you don't create so many chances, so when they do come we need to finish them."
