Tyla Cancels North American Tour Due To Worsening Injury

Tyla cancels North American tour due to worsening injury.

Tyla has announced the cancellation of her upcoming North American tour due to a longstanding injury that has worsened over time. The South African singer, known for her hit single 'Water,' was set to begin her Tyla Tour in Oslo, Norway, on March 21, with plans for international dates before returning to the U.S. However, all North American dates have been called off, while U.K. and European dates are expected to be rescheduled.

In a social media post, Tyla shared her disappointment, revealing that she has been silently battling an injury that has deteriorated despite seeking medical help. She expressed her heartbreak over having to cancel the tour, emphasizing that continuing with performances would jeopardize her long-term health and safety.

'Water,' released in July, propelled Tyla to global fame, reaching No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. Following the success of the single, she announced her debut album, scheduled for release on March 22. Tyla recently made history by winning the inaugural award for best African music performance with 'Water.'

Tyla expressed gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support and understanding, assuring them that she and her team are working on a spectacular show for when she is fully recovered and ready to return to the stage safely, likely in the summer. Refunds for North American headline dates will be processed automatically, while ticket holders in other regions will receive communication from their providers regarding options and updates on rescheduled dates.

Despite the setback, Tyla remains optimistic about her future in music and is focused on her recovery to deliver an unforgettable performance to her loyal fan base.
