A two-year-old child was discovered alone on the streets of Paisley in the dark.
The toddler was spotted by concerned members of the public in the town's Maxwellton Street around 9pm on Sunday night.
Police were contacted, and the child taken to a safety, the Paisley Daily Express reports.
Details of the circumstances have not been released, but police confirm that a man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
The child is now safe and well.

Inspector Laura Hamill, of Paisley's community policing team, said: "We were made aware of an incident involving a child around 8.45pm on Sunday, January 16.
"The child has been traced safe and well."
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
