Two women are reported to have been sexually assaulted at the Scarisbrick Hotel in Southport.
Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called at around 7.45pm on Saturday, March 18, to the Scarisbrick Hotel on Lord Street after it was reported that two women had been sexually assaulted and one was struck in the face. Officers attended the hotel and arrested a 55-year-old man.
The man from Birkdale was arrested on suspicion of two counts of sexual assault of a female, assault and possession of a class A drug. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of a suspected sexual assault in Southport. At around 7.45pm on Saturday 18 March, it was reported that two women had been sexually assaulted by a man and one was struck in the face at the Scarisbrick Hotel on Lord Street.
"Officers attended and a 55-year-old man from Birkdale was arrested on suspicion two counts of sexual assault of a female, assault and possession of a Class A drug, cocaine. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
