Two women seriously assaulted at Scots train station as cops make arrest

Police have made an arrest after two women were seriously assaulted at a Scots train station last night.

Emergency services raced to Westerton station in Glasgow after the alarm was raised at around 10.30pm on Friday, March 25.

Cops were called to the report of an altercation at the scene.

Two women were seriously assaulted, with one taken to hospital for treatment.

A 32-year-old woman has now been arrested in connection with the incident and British Transport Police have launched an appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

A BTP spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for information after two serious assaults at Westerton Station, Glasgow.

"At around 10.30pm on Friday, March 25, officers were called to an altercation at the station which had resulted in two females being seriously assaulted.

"A 32-year-old female has been arrested for serious assault and is currently in custody. Another female was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident to help with their enquiries.

"Witnesses, or anyone with information, can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 50 40 50 quoting reference 727 of 15/03/22.

"Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
