New England Patriots quarterbacks coach Mike Pellegrino will not return to the team in 2025, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
Pellegrino spent the last six seasons as the Patriots cornerbacks coach. He helped establish the unit into one of the strongest positional groups on the team.
He has coached a multitude of standout cornerbacks over the years, including Stephon Gilmore, Christian Gonzalez and J.C. Jackson. All three were All-Pro cornerbacks under his tutelage.
It’s a major move with the longtime assistant leaving the coaching staff after the hiring of Mike Vrabel.
Mike Pellegrino, who spent the last six seasons as Patriots CBs coach, will not be returning to the team in 2025.
He coached 3 All-Pros (Stephon Gilmore, J.C. Jackson, Christian Gonzalez).
Patriots ranked in top 10 pass defense in 4 of his 6 seasons.
One thing that always…

Losing Pellegrino is surprising considering the secondary was one of the few positives for the Patriots. He’s brought consistency to a defensive unit that has undergone significant change in recent years.
Whoever the Patriots bring in as Pellegrino’s replacement will have big shoes to fill.
