Two teens arrested after 14yo boy allegedly stabbed in the back in Adelaide's southern suburbs

Two teenagers have been arrested after a 14-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed in the back in Adelaide's southern suburbs.

Police and emergency services were called to Maxwell Road at Hackham West at about 1:45am on Sunday.

Police said the boy alleged he was approached by three teenagers, one armed with a machete, and then stabbed in the back.

He was taken to Flinders Medical Centre where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said a knife was recovered nearby and forensic investigators are examining the weapon to see if it was used in alleged assault.

A 17-year-old boy from Glenelg and a 15-year-old boy from Morphettville were arrested and charged with aggravated assault causing harm in the early hours of Monday morning.

They were both refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court on Tuesday.

Police said the incident was not random and all parties were known to each other.

No other suspects are being sought by police.
