Two young men were arrested in Galway on Tuesday after gardai seized approximately €85,500 worth of cash and illegal drugs.
The bust was made as part of Operation Tara, which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels.
This particular search was carried out at around 8:00pm on Tuesday at a house in Galway City.
Officers attached to the operation discovered a large quantity of what they assume is cocaine, cannabis and MDMA.
The search also uncovered a large amount of cash at the premises - all of which is thought to belong to the two teens arrested in connection with the findings.
A statement released by a spokesperson on Facebook explained: “Gardai in Galway have arrested two men following the seizure of €85,500 worth of cash and drugs under Operation Tara on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
“The seizure was made shortly after 8pm on Tuesday at a house in the Ballybane area of Galway city.
“During the course of this search a large quantity of suspected cocaine and cash as well as suspected cannabis herb, and suspected MDMA were seized.
“This evening, Wednesday, January 19, 2022, two men in their late teens were arrested in connection with this seizure.
“They are currently detained at North Western Regional Garda Headquarters in Murrough Co Galway.”
