Two 15-year-olds have been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Brianna Ghey, Cheshire Constabulary has said.
Officers said a 15-year-old boy from Leigh and a 15-year-old girl from Warrington have been charged with murder.
Brianna’s body was discovered in Linear Park in Warrington on afternoon of Saturday, February 11.
Vigils organised by the LGBT community were held in Liverpool and Bristol on Tuesday in memory of the trans teenager.
Further vigils are set to take place in several major cities including London, Glasgow, Leeds and Belfast.
In a tribute issued after Brianna’s death, family said the teenager was a “much-loved daughter, granddaughter, and baby sister”.
“Brianna was beautiful, witty and hilarious,” they said.
“Brianna was strong, fearless and one of a kind. The loss of her young life has left a massive hole in our family, and we know that the teachers and her friends who were involved in her life will feel the same.”
