Two teen drivers arrested after pedestrian, 29, critically injured in Wandsworth crash

Two teenage drivers have been arrested after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a crash in Wandsworth.

Police and paramedics were called to the A217 Garratt Lane shortly after 1.30am on Thursday, to reports of a crash involving two cars and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian - a 29-year-old man - was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. His family has been notified.

The drivers of the two cars identified themselves to police.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, while another 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving.

Both were taken to a south London police station, where they remained on Thursday evening.

A crime scene was set up in the area but has now been lifted.

On Thursday evening, detectives from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command appealing for information about the crash.
